![]() □□□Īlthough the first book felt slow to me, but after some surprising twists came, the plot started to flow and I was hooked… from there it just got better and better! ( I finished the third book biting my nails and screaming out loud!!!) □ It's a wonderful retelling of the story of King Midas from the Greek mythology with surprising twists, interesting characters, an ingeniously constructed world and a slow burn that explodes into an entire chapter where I blushed and giggled like a little girl. □ "Does it really matter if your cage is solid gold when you aren't allowed to leave it? A cage is a cage, no matter how gilded." □ ( Gild) It felt like a fair deal to her at the time, but when war breaks out, she begins to realize that a cage is still a cage, even if it's a beautiful one… and everything she thought she knew about Midas, may be completely wrong. ![]() Midas saved her from a terrible life and in return she gave him her love and trust, even if it meant being imprisoned. This book was another excellent recommendation from my naughty fantasy queen, booknof.Īuren is the favorite golden girl (literally) of King Midas, just like the golden cage in which she spends her days. ![]()
